"Finally brethren, whatever things are
true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are
pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there
is any virtue, and if there is anything praiseworthy, meditate on these
things.
- Philippians
4:8 (NKJV)
I have been
contemplating this passage of the Bible that my dear sister Jan sent to me in
answer to my question - when does God answer our inner desires and dreams?
And the answer is when our will becomes closer to that of God's, which is
love. This requires relinquishing our own selfish will and let God's will
work in our life. It is not about what we receive, but truly what we give
and it does come back to us, but not how we expect. God's choices are
always better than ours and that is what is so wondrous. It reminds me of
Jesus feeding thousands from a few loaves of bread. The lesson is that
there is enough for everyone when we follow the Lord. But what comes to
us is not in physical possessions, but the peace and love in this life and
thereafter. But as humans we struggle to truly believe there are sufficient
resources when we focus on others competing for their own gain for limited
resources. We fail to see the generosity
is so many people, especially in those who are poor.
